Every other Wednesday from now until the end of June, the KCI Makerspace will be hosting evening workshops. At these workshops makerspace members or staff will facilitate making a particular project. Projects will vary and attendees will benefit from learning from people who have delved deeply into particular maker materials, approaches and tools.

Community member extraordinaire, Anya Crane, is a whiz with the laser cutter and has created a timely workshop activity for us.  Learn to laser cut wood jewelry for Mother’s Day. Anya will bring a collection of laser-ready shapes prepared on Illustrator. Select from these, or design your own. Then paint your pieces. The event is 5:30 – 7:45. April 25th Workshop: Leatherworking with Heidi Stern

This inaugural Workshop Wednesday will focus on leather working with community member, leather artist and purveyor of HASbags, Heidi Stern.

Join us to learn some basics of leatherworking. We will be making a double-sided coin purse. You will learn to cut leather, handstitch, and set snaps. Heidi will also demonstrate stitching leather on a sewing machine and discuss how she uses the lasercutter to etch.
