Foothill College and KCI Semiconductor Initiative for K-12 Teachers
Foothill College and the Krause Center for Innovation have received two $500,000 grants from the California Chancellor’s Office to build out a pre-apprenticeship pipeline for middle and high school students to fill a developing semiconductor apprenticeship pathway at Foothill. The Krause Center for Innovation plays a vital role in helping middle and high school teachers bring semiconductor concepts and lessons to their classrooms so that students are exposed to this vital area of the workforce that will need to fill thousands of positions by the time they graduate from high school. In collaboration with SEMI and Ignited, there are six lessons to bring to your school or district. If you would like to participate formally in the piloting and implementation of these lessons, please reach out to Justin Sewell (jsewell@krauseinnovationcenter.org), Director of KCI Programs and Partnerships. Teachers piloting, implementing, and evaluating the lessons will be paid $2000, and they will be required to participate in an 18-hour professional development during Fall 2023.
