My name is Lisa Rivera-da Silva and I began my career in education 20 years ago as a para and have been teaching for 16 years. I have spent most of my career in 1st grade but have also had the pleasure of teaching 4th grade as well. I grew up in Southern California, where I got my Bachelors Degree and Multiple Subject credential at Cal State University Los Angeles, and moved up to the Bay Area 9 years ago. I continued my education at Grand Canyon University and received my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. During my time as an educator, I have also had the opportunity to become part of many different learning communities such as Santa Clara Unified School District’s Makerspace Community of Practice, PBL Community of Practice, on our Innovation Expo planning team, and have presented at CUE. I enjoy incorporating low risk hands-on learning opportunities with high rewards for my students.
