Empowering Student Investigators with Desmos Studio

Desmos Studio is a dynamic environment where students become mathematical investigators. As the exclusive tool for the Digital SAT, Desmos offers students a familiar platform with powerful new features constantly being introduced. This workshop provides a strategic look at the Desmos ecosystem through the eyes of the learner, followed by a deep dive into the statistics tools that empower students to tackle the California Math Framework’s Data Science initiatives with confidence. In this session, you will learn to help students: Navigate assessments with confidence using the graphing and scientific tools as they appear in high-stakes testing environments. Utilize 3D Graphing and Dynamic Geometry tools to visualize complex concepts. Investigate real-world data using sliders, regressions, distributions, and visualizations to move students from procedural calculations toward statistical habits of mind. Leverage Notes and Notebook (beta) to develop mathematical voice and bridge the gap between informal observation and evidence-based claims. This workshop is ideal for middle and high school math educators, as well as anyone interested in building math literacy across disciplines. You will leave with concrete ideas for transforming static data into interactive, student-driven discoveries.

Donation Sliding Scale

We’re trying something new. Our grant-subsidized workshops that we normally charge $40 (in reality a $350 value) are going to be a sliding scale where you can give what you are able.
