Empowering Students with EFT/Tapping for Emotional Wellbeing

Tapping, also known as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), is a quick and simple self-care technique to help reduce the emotional intensity associated with stressful events. It is also used to support goal setting and performance (athletes use it!). People report that Tapping helps them feel more calm while providing a sense of clarity imbued with compassion. It draws on psychological principles and incorporates acupressure points used in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In this interactive session, participants will learn and experience this simple, yet profound, evidence-based somatic practice for self-care and stress reduction that can also be shared with fellow school staff and students. Facilitators will share best practices for introducing Tapping to educators, behavioral health support staff, and students for use in the classroom, counseling office, or wellness center. Participants will have multiple opportunities to engage with each other in small groups with partners, dedicated time for self-reflection and action planning, and the opportunity to receive an accountability partner to follow up with after the conference.
