AI Working Series Participants

The Krause Center for Innovation (KCI) recently hosted educators and thought leaders from across the Bay Area for our second working session of the Silicon Valley Artificial Intelligence Project. Focused on “AI for the 25-26 School Year: How to Prepare Your Students and Educators,” the day proved to be a dynamic exploration of the evolving AI landscape and its implications for the future of learning and implementation.

We were thrilled to host experts from Stanford’s  The Institute for Human-Centered AI (HAI), The Tech Interactive, and the insightful students from Mountain View High School. Their diverse perspectives sparked rich discussions and offered invaluable guidance as we collectively navigated the path forward with AI in education.

Thanks to the thoughtful feedback shared in our post-event survey, we’re excited to highlight some key takeaways from this impactful day:

  • Engagement Was High Across the Board: Participants actively immersed themselves in each segment of the summit. Notably, the “Research to Practice Panel & Activity” resonated deeply, with most participants reporting being ‘Engaged’ or ‘Very Engaged’. Sessions featuring The Tech Interactive’s student resources and discussions around Student Agency & AI Literacy also captured significant attention.

  • Practicality and Deeper Exploration are Key: What truly stood out was the desire for actionable insights. Educators expressed appreciation for walking away with “actual lessons” and “resources” they could implement. The call for “learning more best practices” and exploring “school collaborations” signals a strong appetite for more in-depth discussions and opportunities to connect with peers in navigating this evolving field.
  • Time Well-Spent and Eagerness for More: We were incredibly encouraged by the overwhelmingly positive sentiment regarding the value of the day. An astounding 100% of respondents felt their time at the summit was well-spent, a testament to the dedication and expertise of our presenters and the active participation of our attendees. Furthermore, a remarkable 96.3% expressed interest in attending similar future events, and 88.9% are keen to learn more about KCI’s professional learning opportunities, workshops, programs, and PD. This enthusiasm fuels our commitment to continue providing relevant and impactful learning experiences.
  • Looking Ahead: Focusing on Practicality and Collaboration: While feedback on improvements was limited, the suggestion for “school collaborations” reinforces the desire for practical application and peer learning. This valuable insight will inform the design of future KCI events, ensuring we prioritize opportunities for educators to connect, share best practices, and develop collaborative strategies for AI integration.

The energy and insights generated at this working session underscore the critical role KCI plays in supporting educators as they prepare for the future of education in the age of AI. We are deeply grateful to our presenters, partners, and the engaged educators who made this day such a success.
