Access KCI’s 2021 Annual Report
October 28, 2021
This year the Krause Center for Innovation celebrates 20+1 years of delivering impactful professional learning programs for educators. As our teachers begin the 2021-2022 school year, we witness their adaptation to a “new normal.” So many are looking for ways to successfully blend the technology adopted during the pandemic with traditional in-person teaching strategies.
Here at the KCI, however, we want to “return to better,” not normal.
We found KCI’s services to be in high-demand this past school year. Our outreach efforts to returning and new school districts increased KCI’s impact in classrooms throughout California. More than 200 educators participated in one or more of our five CA State Certificate Programs. We successfully ran two cohorts of our (maker) SPACE Program remotely, shipping 3D printers to participants and coaching them in the assembly and printing of artifacts in their homes.
Not only were many of our programs reimagined, but our influence in the area of online and blended instruction increased tremendously as we successfully ran two cohorts of KCI’s Online & Blended IMPACT Program in October 2020 and March 2021. Our annual MERIT Program launched in July 2021 and included, for the first time, a CA State Certificate in Educational Technology Specialty. Our fully-online MERIT Program welcomed 20% of the attendees from Southern and Central California, continuing to position KCI in a place of impact throughout California.
All of our instructors and alumni work to shape the educational world around us, helping to create a brighter future for our students and our community. Together we thank you for generously supporting our educational system through much-needed professional learning for our educators. Please join us in promoting the continued success of our KCI funding!
