A Message from Gay Krause
March 26, 2020
I hope that each of you and your families are staying safe and healthy.
The Krause Center for Innovation on the Foothill Campus is closed, but our staff is working from home offices connected through technology and providing our classes online and initiating amended methods to continue our work.
Like you, we read the countless messages from parents who say now they truly understand the value of our teachers as they strive to support their children learning from home. More than one has said “Teachers should be paid a million dollars a year for their work.”
Although it is bittersweet to gain recognition in such trying circumstances, these stories reinforce the value of the work we do and how thankful we are for people like you who care so much about the ability of educators to teach our children and young adults.
KCI will recognize our 20th anniversary in October
KCI may mean many things, depending on who you speak with, but there is one trait that defines us – our resilience these past 20 years to deliver powerful programs such as MERIT, FAME, EMPowered and more, and our Makerspace that leads the way in developing a new approach to technology education.
We look forward to seeing you in person in October when we celebrate our 20 Year Anniversary and look forward to the next era as a leader ensuring we provide the best equipped teachers possible. Watch for a Save The Date message from us via an upcoming email notice.
Please continue to support one another
KCI is fortunate to be part of a compassionate, generous, and resilient community. Now, more than ever, we need to continue our creative and excellent work. Please consider donating to KCI. Your contributions make it possible for us to maintain our current programs, and create new programs to meet educators’ critical needs implementing technology tools for the classroom. The KCI staff is working hard to connect with schools and educators to be ready when we emerge from this time of great difficulty.
My very best wishes,
Gay Krause, Executive Director
Krause Center for Innovation
I’d like to hear from you – krausegay@fhda.edu– whether an educator, a parent, a community member, or combination. Please let us know how you are continuing your own work and how KCI can support your efforts.
